Disable global menu in Ubuntu Unity (Natty Narwhal release)

Unity introduces some features that I’m not willing to adopt quite yet: the global menu is one of them.

To restore the old functionality, perform the following

sudo -i
echo "export UBUNTU_MENUPROXY=" > /etc/X11/Xsession.d/81ubuntumenuproxy

Restart the computer to be sure. Remove the file to restore functionality. This will affect all users on the system
